Raise your hand if you're a Harry Potter fan. I mean, who isn't? I read the Harry Potter series for the first time in middle/high school. It took a while, but each was better than the next. I am currently rereading the series. I was one of those unfortunate people that read the series after watching all the movies, so I honestly don't know if it is better to watch the movies or read the books first. I normally believe in reading the books before watching the movies, but each story is different.

So now, why I love Harry Potter. J.K Rowling is a genius. I mean, an absolute genius. How she possibly thought and planned this entire series out and wrote it on paper is phenomenal. Each book builds on the next. Each relationship and character advances and becomes deeper as the series continues. You MUST read these in order. I don't care if you've seen the movies before or not, you MUST read them in order.

There are definitely a lot of parts of the novels that are not in the movies and vice versa. I don't know if the movies or books are better, to be honest. The books have such good details, plot lines, and character development. The climax of each book leads right into the next. The movies do the same while having incredible graphics.

So let's talk about each book, briefly:

1. Sorcerer's Stone:

-Seems to be a bit slow starting, but offers a lot of background information on Harry's life before wizarding.

-Climax of the book is fairly late, but a huge twist!!

-Quick read

2. Chamber of Secrets:

-Get's right into the thick of Harry being at Hogwarts

-Funny scenes with building relationships

-Quick read

3. Prisoners of Azkaban:

-This is where the books start to get thick, but don't stop!!

-Harry's family is introduced a lot here, along with a lot more about what happened to him as a baby/what made him so famous.

4. Goblet of Fire:

-Thrilling, long, but a page turner

-Harry's personailty, drive and perserverance comes through a lot in this novel.

-Romance!!!!

5. Order of the Phoenix:

-Characters seem to really mature in this novel.

-I found this one the hardest to follow for some reason. This one took me the longest to read

6. Half-Blood Prince:

-Harry has a lot of relationships begin and end along with a lot of hard decision making.

-More romance!!!

7. Deathly Hallows:

-Long, thick, but thrilling.

-A lot happens in this novel, so pay attention. Plots twist and fights happen. A lot changes and situations increase, so stay glued to the pages and don't skim. Read every word.

-Satisfying ending. Pure Bliss.
